Job Overview:

The Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider will deliver health care in the critical care settings to include, but not limited to, the recognition and management of common, critical illnesses and injuries; and the provisioning of care across the healthcare continuum with emphasis on early detection, treatment, and prevention of diseases,

Job Qualifications

Valid license/certificate as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of NJ requiredCurrent New Jersey , Nurse Practitioner license required,Current New Jersey Registered Nurse license required,Current DEA , CDS, ACLS and BLS licenses required

Scheduling Requirements:

Full time40 hours

Essential Functions:

Obtains and records patient historyPerforms physical and medical screening examinationsCompletes diagnostic and therapeutic studiesOrders diagnostic laboratory tests, radiological studies or other therapies as appropriateEstablishes diagnostic decision-making and initiates a treatment plan, which may include ordering medications, additional therapeutic modalities, etc,Coordinates patient care with other members of the health care teamInitiates consultation requests to other health professionals to provide more comprehensive patient managementInstructs and counsels patients regarding mental and physical health, referring patients to appropriate specialists/resourcesCompletes charting in a thorough and timely mannerAdequately manages patient flow in the ICUPerforms procedures as allowed by state law and under the direction of the supervising or collaborating physicianWorks within legal, regulatory, and ethical practice standardsActively participates in department staff meetings and risk management educationCompletes required courses, i,e HIPAA, EMTALA and other CME/CEU requirementsOther duties as assigned, including but not limited to academic lectures and / or quality improvement projects
