For more information regarding the benefit package go to: West Texas A&M University: Human Resources Benefits (https://www.wtamu.edu/business-finance/human-resources/benefits.html) General Summary This position will assist the nursing faculty in the BNLC building with preparation for skills training for courses as well as assist in maintaining training equipment, answering phones and including clerical and clinical responsibilities for the undergraduate and graduate nursing faculty. This position will also assist with the simulation centers of Amarillo and Canyon. Responsibilities: + Advises current and prospective nursing students about admissions statuses, policies, and nursing programs. + Mentors/counsels nursing students, tracking student progress, and advises appropriately as to their eligibility to progress through the nursing curriculum. + Collaborates and organizes nursing advising services with other educational institutions + Collects and organizes student record information in order to determine the ranking order of candidates for the nursing programs. + Organizes and conducts activities for nursing students. + Assist in events for the department including recruitment and retention efforts and community health fair events for the department of nursing + This document represents the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and functions. Necessary Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. + One (1) year in higher education or equivalency in work experience. + Computer skills. + Professional communication skills. + Ability to multitask. + Strong organizational and time management skills. + Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. + Work cooperatively with others.
