Admissions Assessor - Substance Use Disorders (Alternating Weekends)

The Admissions Assessor provides a host of responsibilities that are critical to client in-flow for the Recovery Center departments. The person in this position must understand payor sources and protocol, addiction treatment options, St. Luke’s Penn Foundation services, emergency management, and client/family interventions. The employee must also be competent in addressing clinical matters over the phone or through a formal clinical assessment. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Conducts client screening and intake functions to assist client in accessing care, checks insurance benefits, entering admission data into the EHR, and PAWITS systems, and scheduling new clients. + ​Maintains positive working relationships with referral sources and coordinates services to meet client needs. + Reviews referral information and collaborates with nursing staff to make admission determinations. + Responsible for inpatient bed management. + Collaborate with the billing department to ensure funding is in place for all individuals seeking care. + Performs Biopsychosocial Assessments and determines level of care when needed. PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Requires sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours at time). Requires continual use of fingers for patient care, writing and computer entry. Requires ability to hear normal conversation and good general, near and peripheral vision. EDUCATION: + Bachelor's degree required TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: + Competency in addressing clinical matters over the phone or through a formal clinical assessment. WORK SCHEDULE: + Alternating weekends: Saturday and Sunday 8:00 p.m. - 8:00 a.m. Please complete your application using your full legal name and current home address.
