The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking an experienced Administrative Support Specialist to support Ship Maintenance Performance Group (SMPG) who is a highly capable, poised, and a proactive trusted advisor to support the Director, Deputy Director and Division Heads of SMPG. This critical front-office role will serve as the organizational nerve center for senior leadership coordination, calendar and meeting management, and day-to-day administrative support. The Administrative Support Specialist role will help coordinate leadership schedules, division-wide planning efforts, and occasionally act on behalf of the front office to support operational rhythm and execution across all divisions. This role requires someone who can anticipate needs, manage sensitive information, and perform with agility in a fast-paced, high-visibility operational environment.
This position is based at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) Portsmouth, VA.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Program Manager, Client Executive and task area managers acting as a liaison with other senior government personnel within the DoN and NAVSEA enterprise.
Manage complex calendars, coordinate internal and external meetings, and ensure timely preparation of briefing materials.
Draft, edit, and track official correspondence, memos, read-ahead materials, and executive summaries.
Coordinate travel, logistics, conference participation, and VIP engagements.
Interface effectively with government civilian, military, and contractor personnel in a joint team environment.
Provide administrative tasks in support of functional areas such as: finance, human resources, purchasing, travel, research and development and training.
Leadership.
Performs studies, reviews, and investigations to develop and recommend tools, processes and procedures to help facilitate efficiency with program and task area execution.
Qualifications:
Required:
5+ years of experience as a senior admin assistant supporting senior DoD, Navy, or federal executives.
Typically has a University Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience.
Strong understanding of Navy culture, protocol, and terminology — NAVSEA experience is highly desirable.
Demonstrated experience with front office management, calendar deconfliction, and meeting preparation at the executive suite level.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and DoD collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint).
Clear communicator who understands executive tempo, confidentiality, and discretion.
Comfortable with both high-level strategic coordination and everyday administrative tasks.
Professional presence, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate with senior leaders across government and contractor teams.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive — able to anticipate needs and follow through with minimal guidance
Experience in evaluating business requirements and transforming into deliverables.
Proven ability to quickly learn new applications and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
U.S. citizenship and must currently hold or be able to attain U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
Desired:
Prior experience supporting NAVSEA, TYCOMs, or ship maintenance-related programs.
Working knowledge of ship maintenance, sustainment, or logistics environments within the Navy.
Familiarity with government staffing models, contractor support roles, and command-level communications.
Knowledge of Navy and or NAVSEA badging requirements.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
