Job Summary

The University of Michigan, School of Nursing (UMSN), Department of Systems Populations and Leadership is seeking an Administrative Specialist to provide comprehensive professional support to the Healthcare Innovation Impact Program (Hiip) and Healthy Lifetime initiative. This role will provide vision and creativity to move the HiiP program forward, including consulting, coaching, and connecting nurse innovators with the eco-system and breadth of services offered at the University of Michigan and other innovation resources. This role requires interpretation of policies and procedures regarding matters of a sensitive or confidential nature.

This is a full-time term-limited position due to salary funded on a grant.

Responsibilities*Initiate activities to embed a culture of innovation within the school's research, education, and practice mission.Promote engagement in nursing innovation and with HiiP, both in and out of the classroom, in clinical health settings, and in research labs.Work with the HiiP Director to guide faculty to meet the AACN innovation competencies for UMSN students.Assist with product and innovation awareness and marketing plans including outreach to external potential purchasers and/or licensorsBuild awareness of, and recognition for, the UMSN HiiP Program on a national and global scale.Work to promote and grow the impact of the nursing innovations that come out of UMSN.Coach UMSN faculty, staff, and students on their innovation products/programs/interventionsDevelop and market UMSN innovations Maintain communications with supervisor Assist with identifying and liaising with other UM innovation departments and offices to establish strategic partnershipsCollaborate with Innovation Partnerships to ensure UMSN nursing innovations are registered with the University, and all intellectual property documentation is appropriately filled outDesign and develop an on-line repository of innovation resources for UMSN faculty and staff referenceBenchmark and monitor innovation programs at other schools of nursingIdentify innovation training, speakers and educational opportunities relevant to nursing faculty and students and disseminate through podcasts, conferences, workshops, etc.Coordinate nursing innovator showcases events and conferences as assignedSupport HiiP leadership in the development of strategies, goals and tactics for growing the HiiP Program Design and keep each innovator's pathway to market updatedIdentify infrastructures, resources, and tools for the execution and distribution of innovations that UMSN faculty can rely upon for future projects.Initiate and support marketing/promotion of UMSN Innovators products/programs/processes to key target audiences through Innovation Partnerships and other channels.Develop a standardized Nursing Innovation Pathway template as a UMSN tool for future faculty and student use and reference and for potential publication with other nursing schools/organizations.Develop and publish monthly newsletters for faculty and students informing them of nursing innovation-related events/educational opportunities/funding sourcesRepresent UMSN/HiiP via participation on national nursing innovation organizations like the ANA Innovation Enterprise, SONSIEL, etc.Support HiiP's Student Innovation Ambassadors educational and extracurricular activitiesIdentify and provide student-centric resources for student innovatorsIdentify funding sources and other resources for faculty and student innovation to help teams move their ideas forward.Develop surveys as assignedHealthy Lifetime Project Job dutiesMarket research specific to the projectAttend weekly team meetings on market research, recruitment, business development and program developmentAssist in transitioning the Program to a University spin-out

Required Qualifications*Masters in Business Administration degree is highly desirable; Several years of progressively responsible innovation work. Excellent communication and written skills. Work Schedule

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; may include some occasional weekend and/or evening hours.
