This vacancy is located in the NOLA Region of the Office of Louisiana State Police in Orleans Parish.

This is a highly responsible position in the Office of state Police, Patrol Section. The incumbent administers program tasks with a high level of complex and diverse functions requiring independent decision-making. The incumbent ensures the implementation of all directives of the Region Major and will also perform professional-level administrative program functions for Regional Troops.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Performs responsible duties related to the proper operation, coordination, and management of at least two of the following administrative functions:
Responsible for assisting the State Police Major with the operational and administrative management of Patrol Troops within each Region of Louisiana State Police consisting of 3 or more Troops, each with 200+ personnel.
Collaborates and fosters positive working relationships with more than twenty sheriffs, chiefs of police, between 15 and 25 district attorneys. out-of-state law enforcements offices, their command staff, and other sections of the department.
Assists the State Police Major with the direct supervision of all responsibilities and activities of section commanders and other subordinates as assigned.
Maintains access to Troops' time administrative groups and act as the Time Administrator for 200+ Region-Commissioned and Civilian personnel.
Issues/reviews personnel action requests (PRs) and, with assistance from subordinate administrative staff, frequently reviews, updates, and writes SF-3 (position descriptions) reflecting accurate job duties that are consistent with Civil Service requirements or creates new civil service position in Region Patrol for submission to DPS Human Resources and/ or State Police Commission for approval.
Processes citations, arrest reports, incident reports, fleet crash/incident report packets, and subpoena requests.
This incumbent requires advanced skills to make policy interpretations and decisions based on knowledge gained from experience to resolve critical matters. The incumbent is tasked with coordinating Use of Force Board notifications and data for the respective regions, Disciplinary Review Board notifications and data for the respective regions, and Early Identification System (EIS) audits to ensure accuracy.
