**Job Summary**
The University of University of Michigan (U-M) Rogel Cancer Center (Rogel) wants to reduce the burden of cancer and advance health equity through transdisciplinary collaboration in research, education, patient care and community outreach. As a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated comprehensive cancer center, a core part of the Rogel Cancer Center's mission is to improve cancer outcomes and quality of life within the community we serve, helping diverse populations access our clinical care and research trials. Rogel's office of Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) holds tailored programs and special events to educate the community about cancer prevention, screening and early diagnosis.
The Rogel COE Administrative Manager provides primary oversight of the Rogel Cancer Center COE office, including planning, directing and evaluating the work of team members and providing strategic input and direction on cancer outreach, engagement and health equity programs across Rogel's catchment area (the State of Michigan). The COE Managing Director works in partnership with the Associate Director (AD) for Community Outreach and Engagement and Health Disparities and the AD for Administration to address the needs of the Rogel catchment area and beyond as outlined in the center's NCI Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG). The Managing Director fosters strategic alliances with healthcare groups, community partners, the Rogel Community Advisory Board (CAB), Internal Advisory Board, State and Local Departments of Health, university departments, civic leaders and center members to increase cancer knowledge, build community relationships, and address local health needs and cancer burden.

**Responsibilities***
**Leadership, Planning and Evaluation Responsibilities** :
+ Be an advisor and collaborator to the AD for Community Outreach, Engagement and Health Disparities and work with the AD of Administration to implement strategic priorities for Rogel COE.
+ Provide administrative leadership and expertise for Rogel COE programs
+ Manage the COE team of five community specialists
+ Lead annual strategic planning and evaluation processes
+ Develop strategic programs to foster and maintain community and academic partnerships to promote the Rogel Cancer Center's mission related to COE and health equity.
+ Develop and support cancer-related policy, education, and advocacy priorities; participate in cancer policy programs locally and nationally.
+ Create COE metrics (e.g., cancer incidence and mortality, cancer screening and prevention rates, socio-behavioral risk factors for cancer, research ongoing in the catchment area, Rogel patient demographics, community events) to evaluate progress and inform future planning.
+ Be the Rogel liaison with other NCI cancer center's offices of COE, community outreach offices, research scientists, and investigators locally and nationally (e.g., Michigan Cancer Consortium, American Cancer Society).
**Community Outreach Responsibilities** :
+ Implement up-to-date cancer-relevant informational, education and outreach events with an emphasis on priority cancers, health/behavioral risk factors, and populations, including screening and prevention events.
+ Foster community partnerships across Michigan to maintain and expand Rogel's access to the community to provide cancer education, screening and prevention programs.
+ Work with Rogel members in community engagement and distribution strategies.
+ Represent Rogel COE at events, meetings, and committees as applicable.
+ Seek and develop funding opportunities/service-based grants to support outreach activities.
**Research Support**
+ Contribute to essential reports and grant applications including the COE component of the NCI CCSG (annual non-competing and 5-year competing renewal) process, including the written section, presentations and managing metrics
+ Support efforts to assist researchers to recruit diverse study participants to Rogel clinical trials.
+ Participate as an author and coauthor of articles for publication; participate in scientific hypotheses development as applicable.
+ Seek and develop funding opportunities for COE and health equity research.
Perform other related tasks and participate in special projects as assigned.
**Reporting and supervision:**
You will report to the Chief Administrative Officer and Associate Director for Administration (primary) and Associate Director for Community Outreach, Engagement and Health Disparities.
You will supervise community outreach & engagement specialists.
**Required Qualifications***
+ Experience in community engagement and public health
+ Experience building programs using data-driven approach
+ Project management skills
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
+ Ability to handle a portfolio of complex tasks and meet deadlines
+ Will occasionally travel within SE Michigan to implement programs and conduct community outreach
+ Flexible schedule to accommodate some evening and weekend work
**Senior level:**
+ Master's degree in Health Administration, Health Psychology, Public Health or similar discipline
+ 10+ years of experience in community outreach, administrative management
**Intermediate level:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Health Psychology, Public Health or similar discipline
+ 7+ years of experience in community outreach, administrative management
**Associate level:**
+ Bachelor's degree
+ Reasonable professional experience with some prior management, supervisory or team leader experience is normally required.

**Background Screening**
