Administrative Director Surgical & Emergency Services
Position OverviewUnited Health Services (UHS) is seeking a dedicated Administrative Director of Surgical & Emergency Services. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and results-driven leader who will oversee operational activities and drive strategic growth across our services and programs. This role is responsible for the strategic planning, business development, implementation, and evaluation of both current and new business operations to ensure operational excellence for Surgical and Emergency Services. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with Medical Staff, Nursing, Physician Practices, Clinical Services, Service Line Leadership, Finance, Supply Chain, and many other UHS Teams to guide the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of both existing and new services. Your focus will be on ensuring operational excellence, fiscal responsibility, high-quality patient care, and forward-thinking service innovation. Primary Department, Division, or Unit: Surgical Services Administration, UHS Hospitals Primary Work Shift: Day Regular Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation Range: $59.58 - $89.38 per hour, depending on experience ----- Job Responsibilities + Develop, manage, and monitor operating budgets and capital budgets + Lead the creation and oversight of a 5-year capital plan, aligning long-term investments with strategic goals + Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business operations, financial efficiency, and clinical support + Identify and pursue business development opportunities to expand services and optimize operation + Participate in facility planning initiatives to ensure operational readiness and strategic growth + Negotiate and manage contracts for goods and services, ensuring compliance and cost-efficiency + Oversee the Anesthesia Professional Services Agreement and monitor anesthesia billing practices + Co-own, alongside the Director of Nursing, the patient experience improvement program, including data analysis, team communication, and implementation of action plans + Serve as liaison with EMS agencies and maintain relationships with County EMS to coordinate emergency care and transport protocols + Ensure survey preparedness, including readiness for regulatory or accreditation reviews Position Qualifications Minimum Required: Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related degree. + Three (3) years’ experience in healthcare field Preferred: + Two (2) years of experience in a comparable healthcare administrative position + Experience with Surgical Services and/or Emergency Services program development. + Project management experience ----- Why You’ll Love Working at UHS At United Health Services (UHS), we believe every connection—to patients, to purpose, to each other—makes a difference.
