District Recruitment for Rapides Parish:
This position functions as a Clerk within the District Business Office. Incumbent must be self-motivated and able to perform duties independently with little to no supervision on a regular basis. The incumbent is also expected to exercise a high degree of independent judgment and initiative in determining the approachI action to take in non-routine situations that may arise. This position must possess extensive knowledge of DOTD processes and functions in order to accurately process, report and document all activities accomplished. The incumbent will participate in DOTD structured training programs as appropriate and attend all continuing education classes and conferences deemed necessary to facilitate the performance of required tasks.
While in official capacity, DOTD employees must comply with applicable Louisiana and Civil Service laws, rules and regulations, as well as DOTD policies, procedures, manuals, and directives.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
-Serves as Timekeeper for Unit 001. Ensures hours worked are reported properly, including coding of Cost Center and Leave and/or Attendance, as well as supported by properly executed leave slips when applicable.
-Confers with Unit Timekeepers to reconcile discrepancies, forwards PPAs to ADA of Business for processing, and maintains the District's Payroll Files.
-Processes all Family Leave documentation for employees placed on Family Leave.
-Maintains the Accounts Payable Files for the Fiscal Year.
-Serves as liaison and/or contact person with Vendors as well as internal and external customers, concerning payment information and/or discrepancies.
-Provides back-up and support to the Switchboard/Receptionist on a daily basis and as needed, including but not limited to scheduled/unscheduled absences, lunch and breaks.
-Provides back-up and support to Stockroom Personnel on an as-needed basis, including but not limited to vacations and extended absences.
-Reviews and enters all personal injury reports and incident reports for DOTD Personnel to Sedgwick and forward all new claims to appropriate Workman's Comp. personnel at Headquarters.
-May be required to perform other duties as necessary including, but not limited to, emergency/disaster support activities.
Appointment Type: Probational/Promotional
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday from 7:45AM to 4:15PM.
