About this Job
The mission of the Elections Program is to insure the integrity of the electoral and election management process in Louisiana for its voters, citizens and for other interested parties in Louisiana and the United States, in general and to encourage public participation in the election process by educating voters and potential voters about the elections process through effective outreach programs.
AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:
+ Accepting Direction: The ability to accept and follow directions from those higher in the chain of command.
+ Demonstrating Accountability: The ability to accept ownership for your actions, behaviors, performance, and decisions.
+ Using Data: The ability to use relevant and valid data to inform a recommendation for action.
+ Following Policies and Procedures: The ability to comply with policies and procedures of the organization, as well as State Civil Service rules, and all applicable federal and state laws.
Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Screens, routes, and resolves telephone calls, or accesses appropriate staff to resolve the same.
Provides customer service to the public (voters, candidates, elected officials, and private and public interest groups).
Sorts and directs all mail and elections documents, screens and verifies accuracy of voter registration applications, and as appropriate,
evenly distributes to team members on a daily basis.
Files daily.
Screens voter applications for accuracy and for prior registrations daily.
Position-Specific Details:
For every election cycle, the selected applicant must be available to work on the two Saturdays during early voting, extended daily hours during early voting, and also the day of the election, which is normally a Saturday.
The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant.
