This vacancy is located in the Covington Region in the St Tammany Parish Child Welfare Office in Covington, LA.

We’re looking for anAdministrative Coordinator to serve as the first point of contact at the agency in our Child Welfare Office in Covington, LA, creating a welcoming environment for clients and visitors and providing administrative support that keeps our front office running smoothly.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
The incumbent of this position provides administrative and clerical support of program activities and data entry for Child Protection Investigations, Foster Care, and Family Services Programs.
In this position, you will be responsible for duties such as:
+ Monitors and accepts calls from the public and staff
+ Perform TIPS clearances as needed to determine appropriate worker to route calls or messages to
+ Greets and assists clients/visitors to the office and enforces sign-in and visitor badge requirements
+ Review, approve, and enter various forms into TIPS program
+ Collect logs and receipts from all state vehicles
+ Schedule appointments and assist caregivers with form completion
+ Create scheduling calendars for each conference/visitor room
+ Open incoming mail from all sources and sort for distribution to appropriate supervisors
+ Performs other duties as assigned for the smooth operation of the Department.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.
Works Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
Career Progression: This position participates in a Career Progression Group (CPG) and may be filled as an Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, or 3. The level at which the vacancy is filled will be determined by the qualifications of the candidate selected. This position provides the opportunity to advance within this job series.
The actual starting salary depends on the education and experience of the selected applicant.
