The department manages disputed claims, conducts hearings, reviews medical treatment disputes, and investigates fraud through collaborative efforts like the GAME ON task force. The OWCA also provides OSHA consultation services to high-risk industries, while Records management maintains detailed records and reporting systems, including electronic submissions of injury reports. Additionally, OWCA conducts financial audits and ensures compliance among self-insured employers and insurance carriers. The Administrative Coordinatorwill provide administrative and legal secretarial support for the office of Workers’ Compensation Judges. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: + Assembles records and exhibits in a form acceptable to each Court of Appeals. + Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the work of student workers who provide clerical support for the district hearing office. + Serves as back-up to the DRS for all duties of the DRS position + Prepares and sends estimated cost bills to the parties appealing. + Review weekly status reports dealing with cases docketed for hearing that week and cases still pending in the district office. + Other related duties as assigned. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type:This position may be filled as either a Probational or a Job Appointment (open to all qualified applicants); a Promotion (open to all statewide classified and agency-wide permanent status employees); or by Detail to Special Duty. Current permanent status, classified employees may be required to accept a Probational appointment if selected. If filled as a Job Appointment, there is a possibility that this position may be converted to a Probational Appointment should funding become available.
