As an Administrative and Clerical Secretary you will:

Work as a team member to provide clinical and administrative support.Type technical and non-technical material utilizing advanced wordprocessing skills, transcribe a variety of medical dictation, maintain appointment calendars, attend meetings to provide secretarial support and follow-up action, screens incoming materials, prioritize items, schedules and book patient/client appointments, create various weekly lists/schedules, and obtain patient/client information.Compile statistical information utilizing spreadsheet software, as applicable to program, enter billing information into a computerized billing system for submission to insurance providers, enter patient/client registration information into a computerized database, perform timekeeping and reception functions.Act as a receptionist by receiving patients/clients and answering telephone calls, as applicable to program may communicate with OR booking personnel to slot patients/clients into pre-arranged OR times for surgical procedures, maintain equipment and stationary needs, and maintain filing systems. Qualifications

Education & Experience

Grade 12, graduation from a recognized secretarial program, supplemented by recognized courses in medical transcription.Three (3) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

Ability to type 60 w.p.m.Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to deal with others effectively.Ability to organize work.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.Ability to operate related equipment. Closing Statement

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
