at every level within the organizationJob SummaryThe Administrative Assistant level will perform multi dimensional administrative tasks that require creativity and independent discretionary judgment to meet the needs of a manager or function May act on behalf of superior on routine matters within established guidelines Reports to assigned managerKey AccountabilitiesProvide efficient accurate and timely administrative support to contribute to the success of the area by performing a variety of duties such as those that followComplete assigned portion of the work areas processes or projects to contribute to its effective operation May perform or coordinate varied and complex processes and determine the most appropriate methods and procedures May facilitate coordinate or oversee the work of others in the process requires planning analysis and judgment to achieve desired outcomes Provides direction and training to others as necessary Specific responsibilities are typically similar those included under the Clerical Administrative Scheduling Communications Accountabilities and other duties as assignedContribute to the success of the work area by coordinating or performing a variety of clerical duties that require the use of office machines to accomplish a desired outcome Determines appropriate means and modifies procedures as required Maintains files in a complete accurate and timely fashion in accordance with the standards of the work area suggests changes to system to meet changing needs May assign work to others Demonstrates competencies including knowledge and behaviors to meet age specific patient needs eg Pediatrics Adolescents and Geriatrics Works effectively as a team member within the department and with customers to provide quality service to hospital units through communication cooperation and collaboration Assumes responsibility for self improvement by collaborating with the superior to identify growth opportunities and resourcesDuties include scheduling authorizations records requests and communication with multiple teams and practicesServes as primary resource on administrative matters including but not limited to health insurance billingcoding requirements prior authorizations and select procedure schedulingEnsure that all staff members communicate and interact with patients in a courteous respectful and businesslike manner Holds staff accountable for customer service standards intercedes and takes appropriate action when incidents occurSchedules procedures and all required preprocedural testing Able to obtain prior authorizations when necessaryResponsible for processing all new patients referrals as neededCommunicates with staff regarding new policies and procedures changes in billing and insurance policies and
