The institute offers a disease-specific, patient-focused approach to care. Our neurology, neurosurgery and pediatric neurology and neurosurgery programs are nationally ranked for their expertise and care. As an Administrative Assistant II in the Neurological Institute, you will perform a range of administrative duties in support of assigned healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include scheduling, managing telephone communications, welcoming patients and visitors and overseeing correspondence. Additionally, you will provide assistance with special projects and contribute to departmental operations and administrative management.
This position offers career advancement opportunities through a defined career ladder with multiple tiers, including roles such as Administrative Assistant I, Administrative Assistant II, Team Lead and Administrative Program Coordinator.
A caregiver in this role works days from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Manage and prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively such as acting as a liaison between internal and external customers by greeting customers, answering and triage phone calls.
Administer and manage calendars and schedule management.
Compose and prepare a variety of correspondence (e.g., reports, forms, presentation materials, messages, etc.) as required.
Provide coverage of other areas such as front end, point of service and registration.
Coordinate management functions and assist in special projects
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
Three years of office experience
Epic experience
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite products (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Strong grammar and verbal and written communication skills
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Associate's Degree
Typing proficiency of 35 WPM with accuracy

Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
Ability to travel throughout the hospital system
