Overview

The administrative assistant II (AAII) will serve as a confidential assistant, provideadministrative and clerical support to the associate dean and faculty as necessary. The AAIIperforms duties requiring a high degree of knowledge of the department and university,including considerable computer knowledge and typing skills are required. The AAIImaintains the department’s records and files serves as initial contact and responds toinquiries and requests from students, faculty, staff and external concerns; liaises withmultiple departments and vendors as needed; supports students and student organizations; and reviews and analyzes data concerning unit activities, prepares reports, and compiles data.

Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full-time, or equivalent part-time,experience in office management, office administration, business administration or business management, the major duties of which included one or more of the following functions: purchasing, personnel management, budgeting, accounting, records management, worksimplification, grants management, contract administration or program management, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

Preferred Qualifications

Budget management experience in a higher education environmentPrevious supervisory experienceAbility to communicate effectively orally and in writingAbility to maintain accurate recordsProficiency using the Microsoft Office suiteFamiliarity with PeopleSoftAbility to establish rapport and maintain harmonious working relationships with persons form varied ethnic, cultural and/or economic backgroundsAbility to speak Portuguese or Spanish

This is an onsitepositionin Salem, MA with on-campus, in-person responsibilities.
