Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join a great, local Non-profit team in Lansing, Michigan. This is a Contract to permanent position that requires a proactive individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. The ideal candidate will bring excellent communication abilities and a commitment to supporting staff and clients in a detail-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
• Provide administrative support to multiple team members, ensuring smooth daily operations.
• Answer inbound calls in a courteous manner and assist with inquiries or direct them to appropriate staff.
• Perform accurate data entry tasks to maintain and update records and databases.
• Manage receptionist duties, including greeting visitors and maintaining a welcoming office environment.
• Draft, format, and compile various documents, reports, and communications as required.
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite to create spreadsheets, presentations, and other essential documents.
• Organize and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines and support organizational goals.
• Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information and interacting with clients.
• Assist individuals with diverse backgrounds and abilities, ensuring clear communication and respectful service.
Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent, plus 3 years of progressively responsible administrative experience.
• Proven ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those with disabilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills for providing accurate information and courteous support to staff and clients.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software tools.
• Demonstrated experience with data entry and managing databases efficiently.
• Ability to handle challenging situations and communicate effectively with individuals who have limited cognitive abilities or English proficiency.
• Knowledge of office practices and procedures, along with excellent organizational skills.
