Adjustment and Referrals Specialist

If you're a solutions-driven, passionate change-maker, come join us in positively impacting the lives of millions of people world-wide for a better future.Adjustment & Referrals (A&R) Services are intended to provide basic referrals to eligible individuals who are not enrolled in any case management programs, do not require extensive systems navigation and have minimal barriers to access. Often these services are one-off and do not require follow-up on the part of the service provider. Traditionally, these services have been provided in-person and often to walk-in clients at the front desk. Through A&R services, those with intensive/extensive needs should be referred to an appropriate program within the agency or in the community.  Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Conduct initial intakes to find out client needs and work with A&R Case Assistance to provide necessary services.• Support efforts to link clients with appropriate educational, health, and social services.  Assist clients to attain their established goals, address challenges, and utilize available resources.• Detail client interactions in accordance with program requirements. Collect database(s) and discuss necessary action steps with Economic Empowerment Manager to meet programming compliance.• Conduct case review and analysis to understand trends in the most common unmet needs of clients throughout the five years after they arrive, conduct outreach and build appropriate stakeholder relationships to address unmet needs and build resources for client referrals • Track information regarding referrals, and whether program is on track to meet outreach targets, engage in awareness raising with internal IRC departments and with client groups in order to maximize referrals • Collaborate effectively with coworkers and partner organizations. Build and maintain relationships with area service providers for the benefit of clients.• Use personal, insured vehicle and/or public transportation (where available) to travel and transport clients and materials as needed throughout the service delivery area.• May provide interpretation services.• Oversees A&R Case Assistance activities and quality of service.• Other duties as assigned. Requirements: • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field of study preferred.• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience strongly preferred.• Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations preferred.• Strong relationship building, diplomacy, and networking skills; ability to effectively build internal and external relationships.• Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.• Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.• Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.• Fluent in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in language(s) spoken by client group is desired, particularly in Spanish, French, Pashto, Dari, Arabic, Swahili, or other client language• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research and problem-solving purposes.• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle. Working Environment:• Combination of working in a standard office environment and work in the community including meetings with community partners.• Occasional weekend and/or evening work required.

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget.  Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
