The Peabody Preparatory is pleased to announce an Adjunct Tuba teaching position in the Winds, Brass and Percussion Department at the Peabody Preparatory, a division of the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, commencing as soon as possible. Candidates should be experienced in teaching students of all ages and levels (beginner to advanced) as part of the Peabody Preparatory's growing Winds, Brass and Percussion Department. Candidates should be comfortable teaching both private lessons and chamber music for instrumentalists of all ages. Duties: + Teach Tuba lessons to beginner and advanced students of all ages. + Participate in annual professional development as needed. + Assist with end-of-semester performances, attend faculty meetings, substitute teach as needed. Today, through its degree-granting Conservatory and its community-based Preparatory school of music and dance, Peabody trains musicians and dancers of every age and at every level. The Preparatory has approximately 2,000 students studying all orchestral instruments, guitar, piano, voice, dance, theory, composition, early childhood, orchestra, chamber music and more. Master's degree or equivalent experience and training preferred. + Documented successful teaching experience required. + While department emphasis is on classical technique and repertoire, candidates with training in jazz and popular styles are welcome and encouraged.
