Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic candidate for its Adjunct Instructor - Interpersonal Rel. & Prof. Dev (Part-Time) position in the Arts and Sciences department of the Academic & Student Affairs Division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s Main campus, just South of downtown Atlanta, Ga.
Under general supervision of the Dean of Arts and Sciences , the Adjunct Instructor - Interpersonal Rel. & Prof. Dev will be a part-time (Adjunct) faculty member that teaches the EMPL (Interpersonal Relationship and Professional Development) course that is designed to transition, connect, and acclimate new students to Atlanta Technical College. The ideal candidate is a passionate educator committed to helping students develop essential interpersonal and professional skills. In this role, you will create engaging lessons, assess progress, and nurture students' academic, social, and technological talents. By fostering these diverse abilities, you will prepare students for success in college and the global community. For the dedicated and caring instructor, the rewards of teaching EMPL are immense. Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment appointed on a per academic term basis.
Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:
+ Serves as an educator, resource, and representative of Atlanta Technical College.
+ Demonstrates the effective use of oral and written communication skills, follow approved curriculum standards, and implement department course syllabi.
+ Demonstrates the use of appropriate teaching techniques.
+ Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping required.
+ Advises and counsels students and maintains appropriate advisement records on each student.
+ Maintains classrooms and labs in accordance with institutional safety guidelines.
+ Attends meetings as required and observe and enforce the institution’s mission, core values, and policies.
+ Assists with student recruitment and job placement.
+ Serves on committees.
+ Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual.
+ Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution.
+ Performing other duties as assigned.

· Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials
· Knowledge of vocational area of assignment
· Skill in presenting subject matter
· Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress
· Skill in the use of computers and job-related software programs
· Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners
· Oral and written communication skills
· Knowledge of student information systems
Minimum Qualifications :
Must possess and demonstrate the following:
+ Master’s Degree in a related field.
PREFERRED Qualifications :
Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, possess and demonstrate the following:
· Must possess and maintain the appropriate professional credential for or related to the field or position.
· Two (2) years of teaching experience.
· Experience with student affairs, advising, financial aid, and student support.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Knowledge of and efficiency in the use of BlackBoard.
· Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
· Must possess documented experience in an academic setting.
· Must possess excellent technological skills.
