The Peabody Preparatory is pleased to announce an Adjunct French Horn teaching position in the Winds, Brass, and Percussion Department at the Peabody Preparatory, a division of the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, commencing as soon as possible.
Candidates should be experienced in teaching students of all ages and levels (beginner to advanced) as part of the Peabody Preparatory's growing Winds, Brass, and Percussion Department. Candidates should be comfortable teaching both private lessons and chamber music for instrumentalists of all ages.
Duties
+ Teach French Horn lessons to beginner and advanced students of all ages.
+ Participate in annual professional development as needed.
+ Assist with end-of-semester performances, attend faculty meetings, substitute teach as needed.

Our wind, brass, and percussion faculty are comprised of highly skilled and dedicated individuals as part of a vibrant and active department committed to helping all students achieve their potential; we embrace the novice musician as well as the serious student aspiring toward a career in music.
+ Bachelor's degree in music and or music education required. Master's degree or equivalent experience and training preferred.
+ Documented successful teaching experience required.
+ While department emphasis is on classical technique and repertoire, candidates with training in jazz and popular styles are welcome and encouraged.
Salary: Hourly rate of $40-$50 for private instruction, $50-$62.50 for group instruction.

The listed salary range represents the minimum and maximum Johns Hopkins University offers for this position, based on a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as location, skills, experience, market conditions, education, and internal equity. Not all candidates will qualify for the highest salary in the range.
