Aviation adjunct instructors will begin preparing aviation courses and working with aviation students on simulator activities.The Center is seeking adjuncts to prepare aviation courses, prepare the simulator for individual student instruction and teaching students in the simulator. Instructors should have aviation experience and certifications associated with the course material for instruction. Minimum Qualifications Certified Flight Instructor Preferred Qualifications Teaching experience preferred. Essential Functions and percent of time: 60% Teaching & Course Development Prepare and enhance course materials Preparation of course syllabus. Preparation of Pilot Student interface for each course Preparation of lecture materials Preparation of student assignments Maintain accurate, transparent student records. Assist and foster student success through the maintenance of regularly scheduled office hours and timely responses to email inquiries. Adhere to all administrative University policies. Maintain appropriate professional development to stay current within assigned courses. Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics. Other duties as assigned.
20% Simulator Preparation and Instruction Prepare simulator to match First Flight aircraft configuration. Familiarize with all simulator functions and capabilities. Run checklists in simulator to identify negative transfer issues. Determine students needing additional assistance from Chief Pilot Schedule simulator sessions with those students to address areas of concern Obtain feedback on how simulators sessions impacted flying performance. Other duties as assigned.
20% Student Management Track aviation program student progress and issues. Brief aviation program director and chief pilot monthly on student progress. Work with students to address academic and flying issues. Other duties as assigned
