The Raytheon team is looking for a Software Engineer II to support our radar programs and the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software (SW) Department. The MDS SW mission is to provide world class Radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for our customers’ wide array of Surveillance and Warning Systems. We align to the core Agile and DevSecOps principles of collaborative operation across the entire value stream, delivering high-frequency, high-quality deployments to our customers. As a member of our team, you will design, develop, test, and release software products for one of our Radar or C2 programs. Some of the programs our department supports include the AN/TPY-2 Radar ( AN/TPY-2: Army Navy/Transportable Radar Surveillance | Raytheon), the Sea-Based X-Band Radar (SBX), the Taiwan Surveillance Radar Program (SRP), NASAMS (NASAMS | Raytheon), and Air Defense Operations Center (ADOC). The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software design and development, an eagerness to learn, the ability to work 100% onsite and collaboratively with a team, and an interest in complex, real-time, safety-critical systems. The job location for this opportunity is in Woburn, Massachusetts. **What You Will Do:** + Work on an agile team responsible for developing and delivering software for one of the MDS Department’s programs. **Specific responsibilities include:** + Assist and participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of real-time application software and tools, to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems. + Participate in internal reviews of software components and systems. + Work on problems with defined scope, schedule, and expectations. + Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products. **Qualifications You Must Have:** + Typically requires a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field. + Experience developing software with agile methodology in a team-based environment. + Experience in software development, test, and/or integration using C, C++, Java, or Ada. + Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date, U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance **Qualifications We Preferred:** + Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins), configuration management tools (Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory), and data analysis tools (MATLAB, Python). + Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, memory management, and multithreaded applications. + Well-developed communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills. + Exposure to radar software development and/or radar concepts. + Proven experience with current Missile defense programs with specific experience in large, complex systems. + Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements. + Experience contributing in a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to technical problems. + Ability to prioritize and make data-driven decisions. + Ability to promote a culture of continuous learning, cross-team collaboration and training. + Strong collaboration and communication skills **What We Offer** + Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
