About the Role

In this purpose-driven role, the Activity Director is responsible for enriching residents’ daily lives through meaningful, person-centered activities that promote dignity, comfort, and purpose. This role supports residents’ emotional, social, and cognitive well-being while fostering connection and community through collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Plan and coordinate engaging individual and group activities tailored to residents’ needs and functional levels Ensure a variety of activities for both high- and low-functioning residents, including one-to-one activities as needed Complete MDS Section F accurately and on time and develop the activities portion of residents’ care plans and annual assessments Create and distribute a monthly activities calendar and prepare the facility newsletter Coordinate at least two off-site activities per month and participate in community events relevant to the facility Collaborate with the Corporate Events/Activities Coordinator on facility and employee events Recruit, train, and oversee the facility’s volunteer program Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) meetings and complete required monthly QA reports

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Candidates must meet one of the following criteria: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, plus at least 1 year of experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities in a healthcare or human services setting. A minimum of 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution, plus 2 years of relevant experience in a healthcare or human services setting. Completion of an Activities Director training course, plus 2 years of experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities in a healthcare or human services setting. Must be eligible to work in the United States of America.
