The Psychiatric/Mental Health (PMH) Registered Nurse, requires a wide range of nursing, psychosocial, and neurobiological expertise. PMH nurses promote well-being through prevention and education, in addition to the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. The nurse demonstrates ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner and demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care. The PMH RN works in a variety of settings and provides comprehensive care to individuals, families, and communities when applicable.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Current Registered Nurse Licensure in-state practicing
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age

Travel RN: $2,146/week
Local RN: $48/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric RN to join an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team in Burlington, NC. This role is ideal for a nurse passionate about community-based mental health, providing comprehensive care to clients with severe and persistent mental illness. You’ll be part of an interdisciplinary team delivering services directly in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Provide psychiatric nursing services within a community-based ACT program
Conduct assessments, administer medications, and support crisis intervention
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including social workers, therapists, and psychiatrists
Participate in treatment planning and ongoing clinical support for clients
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
Requirements
Active NC RN license or compact license
Previous psych/adult behavioral health experience required
ACT Team experience strongly preferred
Ability to work independently in community settings
Current BLS certification
