Acoustic Engineer Intern, Ring Hardware

Key job responsibilities The Acoustic Engineer Intern will support the development of next-generation intelligent audio systems across the Ring/Blink product portfolio. This role focuses on AI-powered audio tuning, audio quality assurance, and smart amplifier performance validation. You will work closely with acoustic, hardware, firmware, algorithm, and global engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle, contributing to both audio input quality (microphone) and audio output performance (speaker & smart amp). This position offers hands-on exposure to AI-assisted audio evaluation, system-level validation, and cross-functional engineering execution. • Support AI-powered audio tuning and quality evaluation, leveraging objective speech quality models such as DNSMOS, NISQA, and VISQOL • Assist in audio performance validation for microphone and speaker systems, including data analysis and issue triage • Participate in speaker smart amplifier evaluation, including speaker protection behavior, performance limits, and system robustness • Assist in tracking acoustic design readiness for engineering builds and production milestones • Work closely with Hardware Engineering, Technology teams, Firmware, and suppliers to keep development activities on schedule • Support audio component testing, acoustic validation, and root cause analysis for system-level issues • Support design data review, validation documentation, and issue resolution activities Basic Qualifications - Speak, write, and read fluently in Mandarin - Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Electro-Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field - Candidates must be in their pre-final year of Bachelor or Master Course - Available to work 5 days per week during summer internship for a minimum of 3 months - Willing to work on-site in Taipei Preferred Qualifications - Are enrolled in a Master's degree or above - Speak, write, and read fluently in English - Can work for 6 months or longer - Knowledge of Acoustic technology in consumer electronics - Knowledge of Electro-Acoustic components, design validation, qualification, and analysis - Hands-on Audio system testing and validation process with equipment - Exposure to audio tuning, signal quality evaluation, or objective speech quality metrics is a plus - Strong organizational and problem solving skills - Demonstrated critical thinking capability - Self-motivated and proactive - Willing take technical challenge and Responsibility - Prior internship or project experience related to hardware, audio, or system validation is a plus Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
