Our work depends on ACI Network Engineer joining our team to oversee all facets of network operations for the USCENTCOM Information Technology Services (CITS) Program. This role will support the USCENTCOM J6 in Tampa, FL. **HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:** + Collaborate with Network and System Engineers to provide datacenter services throughout USCENTCOM, ensuring mission requirements are met. This includes deploying new hardware and software, maintaining and upgrading current servers and services. + Capable of thoroughly analyzing datacenter architecture, workflows, issues, scenarios, practices, or procedures to identify pertinent concerns and factors. + Foster and sustain collaborative working relationships with various work centers and clients within USCENTCOM, as well as coordinate effectively with other Department of Defense agencies as required, information services team members, contract and government management, and IT personnel/staff. + Collaborate with Network and System teams to address service-impacting outages. This includes tasks related to routing, switching, cabling, micro-segmentation within the Cisco ACI environment, managing network equipment for LAN, and servers in both physical and virtualized services environments. + Serves as a member of the USCENTCOM Network Operations team, collaborating with various IT verticals within USCENTCOM and our partners. + Candidates must possess experience in constructing and managing data center network fabrics. They must have proficiency with network routing protocols and Ethernet switching. A background in troubleshooting extensive and intricate networks is essential. Knowledge of VMWare, including VDS, NSX, and Hypervisor platforms, is advantageous. Experience with IT Service Management and Highly Reliable Organizations is also highly desirable. + All the above skills will be used to assist in maintaining current datacenter fabric and to help move the architecture forward as new technologies evolve. **WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:** + Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. + Required Experience: 8+ years of related experience in Data Center technologies, including Cisco ACI, NDFC, NX-OS, and VMware deployed with VDS and NSX + Required Technical Skills: + Expertise in troubleshooting Data Center Network infrastructure, including Nexus 7000/9000, NX-OS, Cisco ACI, Fabric Path, Multi-Site Orchestrator (MSO), Packet Brokers, and Firewalls. + Proficiency in implementing and maintaining protocols including OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MP-BGP, GRE, NAT, VRF/Routing, vPC, FabricPath, OTV, BFD, PIM, FHRP, STP, LACP, EVPN, VMM, EPLD, SPAN, and VXLAN. + Proficiency in Cisco ACI Policy Model. + Proficiency in integrating Cisco ACI with Cisco Secure Workload in conjunction with VMware. + Expertise in troubleshooting IP underlay, IP overlay, Ethernet, and Multicast networks. + Expertise in managing intricate Data Center and Cloud Infrastructure. + Experience in datacenter environments with Cisco Nexus Dashboards is advantageous; we manage several smaller setups using Cisco Nexus Dashboard Controllers. + Comprehensive knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals, including DNS, FTP, SSH, ACL, VLAN, DMZ, and BGP, as well as general networking technologies, network architecture, and connectivity troubleshooting. + Expertise in diagnosing and resolving routing and switching issues. + In-depth understanding of VPN technologies such as IPSEC, DMVPN, S2S, L3VPN, and VPLS. + Required Skills and Abilities: Possess strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with diverse groups, including executives, managers, and subject matter experts. Capably organize and articulate thoughts and ideas clearly. Efficiently manage workflow to achieve established goals. Prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion of assignments. Demonstrate the ability to work independently and follow through on tasks with minimal supervision. Additionally, collaborate as part of a larger IT team or work with colleagues from various departments to achieve common objectives or enhance understanding of client needs. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
