Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Description

This temporary Accounts Receivable Specialist role focuses on cash posting within a newly implemented ERP system. You will help clear a backlog of unapplied payments by accurately researching and applying high-volume transactions to the correct customer invoices. This assignment is expected to last at least one month, with a strong likelihood of extension as the organization continues to stabilize its new ERP environment.

Responsibilities

Review unapplied cash transactions and accurately post payments to the appropriate customer invoices within the ERP system.Research and resolve payment application issues by analyzing customer accounts, invoices, and remittance information.Work through a high volume of transactions, including over one million dollars in unapplied funds, and ensure timely and accurate reallocation.Navigate and utilize the ERP system to identify the correct branches, customers, and invoices for payment application across approximately 120 branches nationwide.Prioritize and manage a list of assigned transactions, independently determining the appropriate actions for each item.Collaborate with internal stakeholders as needed to clarify payment details and resolve discrepancies.Support ad hoc cash application and accounts receivable projects related to the new ERP implementation.Maintain accurate records of payment postings and adjustments to support audit trails and reporting.Contribute to improving cash posting processes as the new ERP system is stabilized and optimized.

Essential Skills

Demonstrated experience in cash posting and payment application within an accounts receivable function.Hands-on experience working in at least one ERP system.Ability to work as a self-starter and independently manage a list of transactions without constant supervision.Strong attention to detail and accuracy when applying payments to specific invoices.Ability to research and resolve unapplied payments across multiple branches and customer accounts.Strong organizational skills to handle high transaction volumes and meet deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with spreadsheets for tracking and analysis.Experience supporting finance or accounting functions during ERP conversions or system changes.Comfort working in a fast-paced, project-based environment with evolving priorities.

Work Environment

This is a temporary, project-based role focused on supporting a recent ERP system implementation. You will work within a structured accounts receivable environment that manages transactions for approximately 120 branches across the country. The assignment is expected to last at least one month, with a strong likelihood of extension as additional unapplied payments are identified and processed. You will report into the finance or accounting leadership team and collaborate closely with colleagues responsible for cash application and ERP processes. The role involves working extensively in the ERP system and using basic Excel tools to support cash posting activities, in a professional office setting with a focus on accuracy, accountability, and continuous process improvement.

This is a Contract position based out of Omaha, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
