We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Receivable Specialist to ensure accurate and timely recording of revenue, manage treasury suspense accounts, and support the reconciliation and distribution of Vehicle Inspection Program (VIP) revenues. This role involves working closely with Accounting Technicians to handle daily deposits, process revenue refunds, and assist with various revenue-related tasks. The ideal candidate will classify and record revenue to the appropriate fund and cost center, apply general accounting methods, and ensure the accuracy of financial information processing.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure revenue is properly recorded and manage the DEQ-DMV Treasury suspense account.Reconcile and distribute VIP revenues between DEQ and DMV based on month-end account cash balances.Work with Accounting Technicians to facilitate daily payment deposits and retrieve revenue documents.Enter batch documents into the Statewide Financial Management System (SFMS).Assist with other revenue-related work as needed.Reconcile regional deposits monthly and ensure timely recording of all deposits.Report to the Revenue Accounting Manager and the Revenue Accountant 2.Classify and record revenue to the appropriate fund and cost center.Apply general accounting methods and procedures to record multiple, complex revenue sources.Review the work of Accounting Technicians to ensure receipts are deposited to the appropriate accounts.Initiate transfers of deposits between interrelated accounts.Essential Skills2-3+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable.Proficiency in cash applications and handling aging reports.Data entry and managing multiple entities.Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel with skills in Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.Strong initiative and problem-solving skills.Personable and professional with excellent customer service skills.Attention to detail and great communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with soft collections.Knowledge in journal entries and/or GL posting.Government experience is a plus.Work EnvironmentThis role offers a hybrid work schedule, with the first two weeks requiring in-office presence for training. Afterward, the position transitions to a hybrid schedule with one day in the office per week.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
