Accounts Receivable Specialist
Job Title: Accounts Receivable SpecialistPay: $33 to $36 an HourLocation: East Longmeadow, MA Job Description Join a dynamic finance team as an Accounts Receivable Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the company's accounts receivable processes. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will ensure efficient financial operations and contribute to the department's overall success. Responsibilities + Deposit company funds through various channels including checks, cash, VFS, credit cards, wires, ACH, and SMART. + Monitor accounts receivable and identify overdue accounts. + Contact customers with overdue accounts to collect funds or negotiate payment plans. + Apply incoming payments by reviewing invoices, matching BP numbers, and conducting research if necessary. + Scan bank deposits, ensuring both deposit and batch totals are accurate, and file documents until reconciliation is completed. + Match SMART invoices to remittance. + Receive email notifications for wires and ACH payments. + Match credit card settlement sheets to invoices. + Handle company sales tax responsibilities, including generating reports and submitting returns via state websites. + Review tax spreadsheets for anomalies and investigate discrepancies. + Submit sales tax returns for Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York, verifying against the general ledger for variances. + Assist with cash flow management by reviewing bank activity and balances, updating cash flow worksheets, and collaborating on cash flow activities. + Conduct daily invoice reviews to ensure accuracy, correct any mistakes, and separate invoices by department for mailing or emailing based on customer needs. + Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager. Work Environment This role is on-site in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, within a fast-growing company. You will work closely with an experienced manager who has been with the company for over 40 years, offering a supportive and collaborative environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Longmeadow, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $36.06/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
