Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to our accounting department and involves handling customer payments, managing account discrepancies, and maintaining accurate financial records. This position promises a fast-paced environment where teamwork and integrity are paramount.

ResponsibilitiesPost customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.Verify and enter transactions from lock box and local deposits to post revenues.Post invoices to customer portals and manage account holds.Update receivables by totaling unpaid invoices.Set up new customer accounts and maintain files including addresses, emails, and contact numbers.Verify D&B reports and credit references.Maintain records by scanning invoices, debits, and credits.Investigate and verify account discrepancies with sales, purchasing, customer service, and customers.Resolve valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting procedures.Follow defined procedures to resolve invalid or unauthorized deductions.Examine customer payment terms and history to resolve collections.Coordinate and lead communications with sales representatives and customer contacts.Keep information confidential to protect the organization’s value.Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.Assist with other accounting department needs as required.Exercise professional judgment and discretion at all times.Essential SkillsMinimum of 4 years of high-volume, full cycle Accounts Receivable experience.Proficiency in ERP systems, with AS400 preferred.Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with accounts receivable collections and customer service.Familiarity with accounting software.Ability to conduct collections calls and perform analysis.Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.84/hr.
