Job Description

Seeking a highly motivated Accounts Receivable Junior Accountant / AR Clerk to join our finance team in our Mount Prospect, IL headquarters. This role is critical in managing customer accounts, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining accurate financial records. The position is highly visible to senior leadership and involves preparing and presenting cash flow projections during bi-weekly executive meetings. The successful candidate should have experience in a manufacturing environment, be skilled in handling large datasets, and be highly proficient in Excel for data analysis and reporting. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring presence in our Mount Prospect office five days per week.

ResponsibilitiesManage the full Accounts Receivable process, including invoicing, payment application, and collections follow-up.Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.Monitor aging reports, identify overdue accounts, and coordinate collection efforts.Perform high-volume data manipulation and analysis, ensuring accuracy in reporting.Utilize advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and complex formulas.Prepare and present cash flow projections for bi-weekly executive review meetings.Collaborate with internal teams (sales, shipping, production) to resolve billing issues quickly.Assist with month-end close activities, including AR reporting and journal entries.Support customer credit reviews and maintain accurate credit documentation.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.2–3 years of Accounts Receivable experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.Sage 100 ERP experience is a strong plus; experience with other ERP systems also beneficial.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are essential — including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data validation.Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence in interacting with executives.Highly motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with EDI, Crystal Reporting, or similar software is advantageous.Overall knowledge of accounting, including AP/AR, is valuable.Peachtree or similar ERP system experience is beneficial.Positive attitude and willingness to learn.Dependable and highly motivated with a manufacturing background.Work Environment

The work environment is collaborative and supportive, with a small close-knit team working together to ensure success. The position is fully in office, with flexibility to work from home in case of emergency or sickness. Typical start time is 8 am, with some flexibility. The company recently expanded its office space in Mt. Prospect and built a new production facility in Lake Villa, with another facility coming to Glenview. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $33.00/hr.
