The Accounts Receivable (AR) Clerk is responsible for supporting the organization’s accounting operations by managing customer invoicing, monitoring outstanding balances, and ensuring timely and accurate cash application. This role plays a key part in maintaining healthy cash flow and accurate financial records while collaborating with internal teams and external customers.
ResponsibilitiesGenerate, review, and distribute customer invoices in accordance with established billing schedules and contract terms.Apply incoming payments accurately to customer accounts, including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card payments.Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on past-due balances in a professional and timely manner.Research and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, and customer account inquiries.Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records within the accounting system.Prepare AR reports, reconciliations, and documentation to support month-end and year-end close activities.Collaborate with sales, customer service, and finance teams to address billing or collection-related questions.Assist with audit requests and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.Essential Skills1–3 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or general accounting.Working knowledge of accounting principles and AR processes.Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.Experience with ERP or accounting systems.Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.Work EnvironmentThe role offers the opportunity to join a fast-growing non-profit organization that provides ample opportunities for career advancement. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.50/hr.
