Accounts Receivable Clerk
Description We are looking for a skilled Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Elizabethville, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will oversee the entire accounts receivable process, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely payments, and effective communication with key internal and external stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to contribute to a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Oversee the full accounts receivable process, including invoicing, payment applications, and collections. • Monitor and manage aging reports, following up on overdue accounts in accordance with company policies. • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies such as short-pays, chargebacks, and unapplied funds. • Reconcile customer accounts and ensure accurate application of payments within the organization's financial system. • Generate and distribute aging and cash collection reports for internal leadership review. • Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes by preparing reconciliations and audit documentation. • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and operations teams to address billing issues and support payment resolutions. • Identify and implement strategies to improve efficiency and accuracy within the accounts receivable function. • Support team development by mentoring less experienced colleagues and sharing best practices. • Participate in special projects and initiatives to enhance processes within the finance team. Requirements • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. • At least 5 years of experience in accounts receivable or accounting, ideally in a manufacturing or distribution setting. • Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Excel skills. • Previous experience in a senior or leadership role within accounts receivable is highly desirable. • Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes, credit/collections, and internal controls. • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate across teams and provide exceptional customer service. • Independent and proactive work style with a commitment to continuous improvement.
