Description
We are looking for a dedicated Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our clients team in Council Bluffs, Iowa. In this role, you will handle essential billing and collections tasks, ensuring seamless financial operations within a dynamic construction environment. This position requires exceptional accuracy, organizational skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and issue progress, final, and retainage invoices to clients in a timely and accurate manner.
• Set up new contracts and projects, including managing bonds, insurance documentation, and other essential details.
• Monitor project status and collaborate with the Operations team to resolve any billing discrepancies.
• Process payments, make deposits, and follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure timely collections.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by addressing billing concerns and providing exceptional service.
• Generate aging reports and assist with month-end close processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain detailed and accurate accounts receivable records to support audits and internal reviews.
• Utilize accounting software to streamline processes and improve efficiency, with a preference for QuickBooks.
• Ensure compliance with relevant billing regulations, including progress billing, retainage, and lien laws.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in general accounting or accounts receivable-related roles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, with QuickBooks preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients and team members.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and meet strict deadlines.
• Familiarity with the construction industry is preferred.
• Experience with Vista or similar platforms and knowledge of progress billing and lien laws is a plus.
