The Position

Roche Services Americas is part of Roche Shared Services Centers worldwide, delivering Finance and Procurement services across the Americas region.

As the Accounts Receivable Accountant, you will execute AR operational activities for the Americas SSC in Costa Rica. Your key responsibilities include managing collections and credit processes, performing financial analyses, and collaborating cross-functionally to achieve outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities:

Collections & Credit Management: Monitor customer accounts for overdue balances, proactively follow up via phone, email, or other channels, and manage dunning processes.Credit Assessments: Conduct credit checks and financial analyses to assess customer creditworthiness, maintain and review credit limits, and handle order release activities in alignment with company policies.Dispute Resolution: Investigate and resolve billing issues and disputes, collaborating with Sales, Customer Service, and Billing teams.Risk Mitigation: Analyze trends in customer behavior and payment history, escalate unresolved or high-risk accounts, and propose credit limit adjustments.Reporting & Analysis: Track and report on collection KPIs such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), aging trends, and collection forecasts; support month-end close processes.Cash Applications: Reconcile AR transactions, clear cash and bank suspense accounts, and reconcile bank accounts.

Accountabilities:

Stakeholder Communication: Ensure timely and professional interactions with internal and external stakeholders.Credit Risk Management: Deliver proactive credit risk management and collection follow-up to meet cash flow and bad debt reduction targets.Order Management: Coordinate order hold/release based on payment status and credit standing.Documentation: Maintain updated collection notes and risk assessments in the ERP system.Process Improvement: Contribute to process improvements and automation opportunities in collections and credit management.

Qualifications:

Experience: 3+ years in Accounts Receivable, with a strong focus on credit, collections, or order release.Expertise: Strong understanding of credit risk analysis, cash flow cycles, and customer behavior.Skills: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills; strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with SAP, FSCM, or other ERP/collection systems is a plus.Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
