Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of the accounts payable function in our Loves Park, Illinois office. This role requires a skilled leader who can manage both onshore and offshore teams, ensure compliance with company policies, and drive efficiency through process improvements. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional vendor service.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise and guide the accounts payable team, including onshore and offshore staff, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, including PO and non-PO invoice management, expense reimbursements, and credit card reconciliations.
• Develop and enforce internal controls and standard operating procedures to maintain compliance and efficiency.
• Act as the primary contact for external vendors, addressing inquiries, resolving disputes, and fostering positive relationships.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Accounting, Operations, and Finance leadership to align AP processes with organizational goals.
• Manage weekly payment runs, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire payments, while monitoring cash flow.
• Support month-end close activities by preparing AP-related accruals, reconciliations, and reports.
• Drive process improvements through the implementation of automation tools and enhanced systems, such as AvidXchange and NetSuite.
• Monitor and report on AP performance metrics, identifying areas for optimization and growth.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, tax regulations, and vendor contract terms to maintain compliance. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounts payable experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Proven ability to manage offshore or distributed accounting teams.
• Proficiency in AP platforms and systems; experience with NetSuite, Ramp, or AvidXchange is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
• Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional relationships and influence stakeholders effectively.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. tax regulations, 1099 reporting, and vendor compliance best practices.
