About this RoleFlare Construction has been built on precision, accountability, and people who take their work seriously - and that's exactly what we need in our AP Specialist. Based out of our main office in Coalville, Utah, this role owns the full accounts payable cycle: from invoice intake through payment execution, vendor reconciliation, and month-end close support. You'll work at the intersection of finance and operations, keeping our payables function accurate, audit-ready, and running without friction. What You'll Do Manage full-cycle AP by receiving, reviewing, and entering high-volume invoices with accurate GL coding and proper approvals from start to finishPerform 3-way matching to align invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents, catching discrepancies before they become problemsExecute payments by preparing and processing check runs, ACH transfers, and wires accurately and on scheduleReconcile vendor accounts, work through discrepancies, and keep AP aging reports currentSupport month-end close by recording accruals, assisting with journal entries, and generating AP reports the team can rely onMaintain vendor records including new vendor setup, W-9s, tax documentation, and current contact informationCommunicate professionally to resolve vendor and internal department issues with clarity and follow-throughUphold compliance with internal controls, approval workflows, and audit guidelines at all timesContribute to process improvements by identifying inefficiencies and bringing forward practical ideas for system or workflow enhancements What You'll BringExperience
2 to 3 years in an AP Clerk or AP Specialist role with demonstrated full-cycle accounts payable experienceHands-on experience with 3-way matching, GL coding, accruals, and month-end close activitiesFamiliarity with job cost accounting and cost code allocation is a plusTechnical Skills
Proficiency with ERP systems; construction or project-based accounting experience preferredAdvanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and formula-based analysisStrong analytical thinking with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies independentlyCommitment to audit-ready records and timely, accurate payment processingEducation and Certifications
