Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. In this role, you will manage high-volume payables, assist with rent collections, and contribute to streamlining accounting processes. This position offers significant growth potential, with opportunities to advance into a Staff Accountant role. Responsibilities: • Process a high volume of accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently. • Manage accounts receivable tasks, including rent collections from internal sources. • Evaluate and implement improvements to streamline accounting processes and systems. • Collaborate with different entities to integrate software solutions for enhanced efficiency. • Handle coding and processing of invoices with precision and attention to detail. • Conduct check runs and ensure timely payments to vendors. • Maintain accurate financial records across multiple sister companies and entities. • Work closely with outsourced accounting firms to manage investor relationships. • Assist with system evaluations to optimize internal workflows. • Support the team in achieving organizational accounting goals. Requirements • Proven experience in accounts payable, including high-volume processing. • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Sage accounting software. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes. • Experience coding invoices and handling check runs. • Effective communication skills to collaborate across multiple entities. • Knowledge of invoice processing and maintaining accurate financial records. • Willingness to grow within the role and take on higher-level accounting responsibilities.
