Accounts Payable Specialist
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join a team in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute your expertise in managing and optimizing accounts payable operations. You will play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments while maintaining compliance and supporting organizational goals. Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for accounts payable processes to improve consistency and efficiency. • Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, vendor communications, and reconciliations. • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements in all payment processes. • Identify and implement improvements to streamline accounts payable workflows and enhance accuracy. • Prepare and present detailed accounts payable reports, such as aging analyses and payment forecasts, for leadership review. • Collaborate with procurement and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain seamless operations. • Manage check runs and Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions to ensure timely vendor payments. • Monitor account coding and invoice documentation to uphold accuracy and transparency in financial records. Requirements • At least 5 years of experience in accounts payable roles, including managing workflows and documenting processes. • Proficient in accounts payable systems such as Mass500, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms. • Strong understanding of accounts payable principles and best practices. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to handle multiple priorities effectively. • Analytical and communication skills to liaise with vendors and internal teams. • Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy. • Experience in creating SOPs or improving operational processes is preferred. • Familiarity with tasks such as account coding, invoice processing, ACH transactions, and check runs.
