Accounts Payable Specialist Location : Akron, OH, United States Job Family : Accounting/Auditing Job Type : Regular Posted : Aug 13, 2025 Job ID : 58869 Back to Search Results Job Description Apply Now > Save JobJob Saved The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a vital role in the purchase-to-payment (P2P) process by reconciling vendor accounts, managing three-way invoice matching and posting, and responding to inquiries. Additional responsibilities include processing payroll hours, preparing reports, and performing account reconciliations. The role may also encompass various other accounting duties as assigned. + Accurately post invoices to ensure timely payment to suppliers in accordance with purchase order terms. + Ensure invoices comply with tax regulations, legal requirements, and accounting standards. + Reconcile supplier statements and accounts on a regular basis. + Monitor process performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement. + Maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls. + Participate in month-end close activities to ensure accurate general ledger entries and make necessary corrections. + Support internal and external audit preparation and follow-up activities. + Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and intercompany business units. + Resolve discrepancies and issues with business partners and vendors promptly. + Prepare various reports and perform accounts payable reconciliations. + Process payroll hours accurately and ensure timely reporting. + Undertake ad hoc tasks as needed. Education and Experience: + 2- or 4-year Finance or Accounting degree preferred, or equivalent experience + Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
