Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payment processing, maintaining vendor files, and fostering strong relationships with both internal and external customers.
ResponsibilitiesReview all vendor invoices for appropriate coding, documentation, and approval to ensure accurate and timely payment.Obtain and maintain accurate vendor files and information, including payment terms and conditions, tax information, remittance information, and provisions related to payment practices and requirements.Review vendor statements and perform research to correct any problems or discrepancies.Communicate with vendors to reconcile account differences and resolve problems in a timely manner.Input and process invoices, purchase orders, and employee expense reports into the accounting system according to standardized policies and procedures.Process invoices, purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders into the accounting system, monitoring invoices with payment holds and resolving them promptly.Manage and maintain accurate accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and files in accordance with established accounting practices and processes.Understand and consistently follow established accounting processes and methods, adhering to all policies and procedures.Cultivate strong and cooperative working relationships with internal and external customers, reflecting the company's core values.Consistently make decisions in an attentive and safe manner to ensure personal safety and health.Utilize LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure efficient operations and processes.Promote and model the company's mission, vision, and values through sound and ethical business practices, championing diversity, equity, and inclusion.Essential SkillsProficiency in accounts payable, invoice processing, and invoicing.Experience with purchase orders and accounts payable cycles.Self-sufficiency and go-getter attitude.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, preferably eCMS.Strong analytical and mathematical skills.Understanding of basic accounting practices and principles.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or equivalent work experience in business administration, accounting, or a related field is preferred.Minimum of 2+ years of work experience in accounting, business management, or administration.Knowledge of the construction industry is a plus.Experience using database, spreadsheet, accounting, and billing software systems.Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
