Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 7 years of accounts payable experience.
+ Experience in mid-large sized companies with a couple million in revenue.
+ Government contracting experience.
+ Proficient in reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and accounts payable.
+ Skills in invoice processing, general ledger, and data entry.
+ Knowledge of month-end accounting processes.
+ Experience with Unanet, Excel pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Oracle, financial modeling, Microsoft Excel, finance reconciliation, and purchase order.
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. This position involves developing and maintaining the work breakdown structure for projects within the accounting system to ensure financial activities of contract performance are recorded and reportable in accordance with applicable regulatory guidance and contract terms. The individual will assist in the preparation, coordination, and documentation of financial analysis for government and commercial contract projects, and will also be involved in preparing forecasts and financial trend analysis. This role offers exposure to complex tasks and the opportunity to work independently.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and maintain the work breakdown structure for projects within the accounting system.
+ Ensure financial activities of contract performance are recorded and reportable according to regulatory guidance and contract terms.
+ Assist in the preparation, coordination, and documentation of financial analysis for government and commercial contract projects.
+ Prepare forecasts and conduct financial trend analysis.
+ Work independently on complex tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook).
+ Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
+ Exemplary customer service skills.
+ Ability to work independently and complete assignments within prescribed routines and accepted practices.
+ Financial reconciliation and Profit & Loss experience is a plus.
Work Environment
This role is fully remote, but candidates must be local to the Northern Virginia (NOVA) area. The position is a new role within the company and includes managing two direct reports. The work environment is laid-back, promoting a great company culture.

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.08/hr.
