Accounting Clerk - Accounts Payable

SUMMARY: \n
Regional Homes is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team. The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for accurately processing vendor invoices, maintaining organized payables records, and ensuring timely payments. This role supports the day-to-day accounting functions and plays an important part in maintaining vendor relationships and financial integrity.\n
The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of accounting principles and be comfortable working with general ledger accounts, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and financial reports.\n
Key Responsibilities:\n\n\n
Receive, review, and process vendor invoices for accuracy, proper approvals, and coding to general ledger accounts.\n\n\n
Enter invoices into the accounting system and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.\n\n\n
Match invoices to purchase orders, receiving documents, and other supporting records as required.\n\n\n
Prepare and process weekly or scheduled vendor payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers).\n\n\n
Maintain organized vendor files and ensure all required documents (W-9s, insurance certificates, etc.) are current.\n\n\n
Respond to vendor inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and follow up on outstanding issues.\n\n\n
Assist with month-end close by preparing AP accruals and reconciliations.\n\n\n
Support internal and external audit requests by providing documentation and reports.\n\n\n
Collaborate with other departments (Operations, Service, and Purchasing) to resolve invoice and payment issues promptly.\n\n\n
Assist with special projects or additional accounting tasks as needed.\n\n\n
Qualifications:\n\nEducation: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or an associate's degree with relevant experience).\nKnowledge of basic accounting principles, including GAAP.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.\nAbility to work independently while meeting deadlines.\nStrong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.\nEffective communication skills for working with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
