Accounts Payable Clerk

Job Description

The Accounts Payable Clerk will accurately process high volumes of invoices, verify invoice details, and maintain vendor records while supporting efficient purchase order and payment workflows. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency with SAP or similar systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

Process and post a high volume of invoices accurately and in a timely manner.Verify invoice details, including amounts, terms, and supporting documentation, to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies.Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receipts to validate transactions before payment.Maintain and update vendor records, ensuring that all vendor information remains accurate and current.Monitor and resolve discrepancies related to invoices, purchase orders, and vendor accounts.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to obtain approvals, clarify invoice issues, and support smooth payment processing.Utilize SAP or similar accounting systems to enter, track, and reconcile accounts payable transactions.Work within spreadsheets and create simple formulas in Excel to support reporting, tracking, and reconciliation activities.Support general accounts payable and office tasks as needed, effectively managing multiple responsibilities and priorities.

Essential Skills

At least 3 years of experience processing over 100 invoices per week or at least 3 years of experience in an office manager role handling multiple responsibilities and multitasking.At least 3 years of vendor maintenance experience, including setting up and updating vendor accounts.At least 3 years of experience performing three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receipts.Proficiency using SAP or a comparable accounting system for accounts payable activities.Ability to navigate spreadsheets and create simple formulas in Excel.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and verification.Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Effective communication skills to work with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in a role that requires wearing multiple hats and managing diverse administrative or financial tasks.Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively.Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to resolving invoice and vendor issues.Comfort working within structured processes and following established accounts payable procedures.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position in a professional office setting. The Accounts Payable Specialist works primarily with SAP or similar accounting software and Excel to manage and track accounts payable activities.

This is a Contract position based out of Carlisle, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.
