Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist (Short Term Contract)
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role involves preparing weekly payment runs, monitoring invoices, processing expense reports, managing intercompany transactions, and maintaining vendor communications. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely closure of accounts payable functions for month-end and year-end purposes.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare weekly payment runs for EFT, wire, bill payment, and cheque.
+ Monitor Concur unsubmitted invoices and distribute them to appropriate staff for review and approval.
+ Review and process payments for employee expense reports from all yards.
+ Process intercompany transactions and apply and post to A/P and A/R.
+ Maintain communication with vendors to address and resolve issues promptly.
+ Assist in the timely closure of AP functions for month-end and year-end purposes.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of Canadian Accounts Payable experience with a basic knowledge of accounting fundamentals.
+ Experience working collaboratively in a team of 4+ people.
+ Proficiency in an Accounting System or ERP (Sage, GP, etc).
+ Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables and basic formulas.
+ Strong communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with cloud-based document management systems like SharePoint.
+ Accounting education is preferred.
+ Familiarity with SAP Concur and Sage 300 is advantageous.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a team.
+ Solution-oriented team player with strong communication skills.
Work Environment
The role reports directly to the Assistant. The position requires 100% in-office attendance during the training period, followed by a hybrid schedule of 3 days in-office and 2 days from home, with some flexibility. The office is transit accessible and offers free roadside parking. The work culture is positive and friendly, with an open-door policy for management support. While on contract, enjoy benefits such as a great working atmosphere and profit sharing (paid monthly after the probation period as long as there is profit). Employees can participate in events such as shoreline cleanups and volunteer activities. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including matching up to 4% of income after the probation period, no-cost health and medical coverage with 80% prescription coverage, and two weeks of vacation (potentially three).

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $60000.00/hr.
