Position Summary: Oversees the activities of the accounts payable department, which includes the preparation of vouchers and the payment of vendor’s invoices according to payment terms. May also be required to actively participate in the vouching/payment process. Responsibilities: + Oversees the accounts payable staff to ensure all invoices received are reviewed and matched with appropriate receipt travelers. + May be required to assist the accounts payable staff in preparing vouchers including assigning payment due dates, account numbers, checking for correct addresses, and proper notations for use tax and CPR’s. + Supervise the review of expense report information including the preparation of vouchers for payment and validation of items on the American Express bill. + Reviews the batch information of each accounts payable assistant for accuracy. + Assists in the scheduling of payments to ensure the most advantageous cash usage. + Approves and forwards the monthly charges in transit to the Sr Financial Analyst II. + Administers the purchasing card program and monitors compliance with company policy. + Monitors sales tax activity for compliance with state and federal tax laws. Computes and prepares sales and use tax reports on a monthly basis. Assists in any state revenue audits. + Reviews and approves vendor master changes or additions through the matrix system. + Responsible for the prompt resolution of payment discrepancies with vendors including outstanding debit memos. + Assists in reviewing expense variances from budget and forecast as requested. Qualifications: Required: 2 - 3 years' experience in accounts payable. Preferred: Associate’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting or bachelor's degree in accounting.
