Description We are looking for a highly organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Suffolk, Virginia. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with at least two years of experience in accounts payable, strong proficiency in Sage accounting software, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing vendor relationships, processing invoices, and ensuring cost allocations are accurate and timely. Responsibilities: • Process and verify invoices, ensuring they match purchase orders and job cost reports. • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records, resolving inquiries and discrepancies promptly. • Reconcile accounts payable statements and prepare thorough account reconciliations. • Collaborate with project teams to allocate costs appropriately to jobs and projects. • Track and monitor job-related expenses for budgeting and reporting. • Utilize Sage accounting software to manage payable details and generate accurate reports. • Perform data analysis in Microsoft Excel, including creating pivot tables and applying formulas. • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to accounts payable. • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing necessary documentation. Requirements • Minimum of two years of experience in accounts payable. • Proficiency in Sage accounting software for tracking and reporting. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas. • Strong organizational and analytical capabilities. • Knowledge of job costing processes and expense tracking. • Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills to interact with vendors and internal teams. • Familiarity with accounts payable compliance and reporting standards.
