About The Job

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Assistant to support our finance team on a 4-month maternity cover contract. The role will focus on processing invoices, handling supplier payments, and ensuring accurate financial records.

Job Description

Process and verify supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy of coding, approvals, and supporting documents

Prepare and perform weekly or scheduled payment runs in line with company policies

Handle supplier queries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

Perform supplier statement reconciliations to ensure accounts are up to date

Maintain proper documentation and filing of all accounts payable transactions for audit purposes

Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and flag any overdue items

Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable

Support the finance team with ad-hoc tasks such as data entry, reporting, and administrative support

What You Know

Basic understanding of accounting or accounts payable processes

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting systems

Good attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Prior experience in accounts payable or finance is an advantage
