Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist
Description 75,000 - 90,000 My client, located near Westfield NJ, has an opportunity for an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Specialist. Benefits: + Health insurance + Paid time off Responsibilities: o Entering invoices into the accounting system and assigning them to appropriate cost centers. o Preparing and processing wire transfers, ACH payments, and checks. o Generating invoices and statements for clients and customers. o Maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions. o Processing vendor invoices, verifying accuracy, and ensuring timely payments. o Ensuring compliance with company credit policies and accounting standards. o Reconciling accounts payable and receivable balances regularly. o Monitoring customer accounts for overdue payments and identifying outstanding debts. o Investigating and resolving payment discrepancies and issues. o Reconciling monthly bank cash collection transactions. o Generating and providing various financial reports o Assisting with month-end closing procedures and providing necessary reports and documentation. o Following up on past-due accounts via phone, email, or written correspondence. o Applying cash receipts to open invoices and reconciling daily receivable deposits. Requirements Qualifications: • 3+ years of experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable preferred. • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred. • Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial regulations. • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a challenging environment. • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Quick books. Experience with Acumatica a plus. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with vendors, customers, and internal departments. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Analytical and critical thinking skills for investigating and resolving discrepancies.
